The Four Seasons of the Field

Our first major exhibition in 2011 at SCOTT & BOWNE featured local Kent artist George Wittman. The show documented the changes through the seasons at Marble Valley Farm, it’s spaces, produce and machinery. The resulting work is remarkably vivid, contemporary and meaningful. Wittman’s exhibit in 2011 reminded us of the importance of the work of the Kent Land Trust, whose massive preservation efforts have made them national leaders in today’s conservancy movement. The Kent Art Association has been integral in helping galleries like ours realize the importance of supporting local talent at every level. It is obvious in Kent and the surrounding townships that the artist colony continues to grow, teaming with both new and familiar talent.
